I need to sell my 1997 Volvo 850 sedan because I have moved and no longer need a car. I have owned the car for seven years and it has been a great vehicle - it reliably got me wherever I needed to go, on long road trips or short errands. I have done a few mpg tests recently and it gets up to 27 mpg if you are driving exclusively on the highway - a mix of highway and city driving averaged out at about 23 mpg. It handles pretty well in the snow and comes with a set of snow tires. It had ~97,000 miles when I first bought the car new from Ithaca foreign car. It currently has 166,000 miles on it, so it has reached the point of depreciation where it is no longer worth it to sell to the dealer for resale. It still has a lot of value though because Volvos are very reliable. Additional features include a sun roof, 6 cd changer, heated seats, cruise control, and power windows. The radio attenna is broken but can be fixed for cheap. Here is the kelly blue book assessment of its value.
